adjetivo/adverbio -ÍSIMO/A/OS/AS = very
In Spanish, an adjective or adverb with this ending is frequently used to express a higher degree than normal.
inteligente –> inteligent-ísimo/a
guapo/a –> guap- ísimo/a
alta/o –> alt-isíma/o
Some adjectives and adverbs have additional changes in the -ísimo form. Here are some of the most common ones:
antiguo/a –> antiquísimo/a
joven –> jovencísimo/a
fuerte –> fortísimo/a
simpático/a –> simpatiquísimo/a
cerca –> cerquísima
lejos –> lejísimo
