El programa Convive es una iniciativa basada en la convivencia entre personas mayores en situación de soledad y estudiantes universitarios
Como respuesta a una sociedad que envejece y en la que se debilitan lazos, Convive apuesta por una respuesta intergeneracional, comunitaria y solidaria. El programa se dirige a personas mayores que viven solas y que, valiéndose por sí mismas para la vida cotidiana, necesitan el apoyo y compañía en su casa para sentirse más vivas. Al mismo tiempo, los jóvenes universitarios que pasan a formar parte de su “familia” se incorporan a su domicilio siguiendo una vida normal, progresando en sus estudios y compartiendo las tareas y los gastos en el domicilio de la persona mayor. Se construye poco a poco una relación de confianza, de aprendizajes compartidos y apoyo mutuo, en una convivencia que solventa problemas de soledad en los más mayores y de alojamiento en los más jóvenes, al tiempo que se construye una sociedad más pendiente de las necesidades y más integradora.
Para poder coordinar este programa Solidarios cuenta con un convenio firmado con el Ayuntamiento de Madrid. A través de sus servicios sociales acceden los mayores en el programa, que cuenta también con la colaboración de siete universidades madrileñas donde estudian los integrantes universitarios de Convive; Univ. Complutense, Univ. Autónoma, Univ. Politécnica, Univ. Carlos III, Univ. Rey Juan Carlos, Univ. Pontificia de Comillas y Univ. de Alcalá.
